DeFazio amendment staves off $200 million for 'livability' - 7 hours ago OOIDA is praising the work of House lawmakers for getting an amendment passed to protect $200 million in highway money from being doled out for the DOT's "livability" grants. The amendment, offered by Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-OR, was part of a Transportation-Housing and Urban Development spending bill passed by the House on Thursday, July 29. Feds propose new standard for safe havens - 7 hours ago The Department of Transportation has proposed new standards for safe and secure places to park for truckers hauling a variety of explosives. The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration published a notice of proposed rulemaking in the Federal Register on Tuesday, July 27, that recommends construction and maintenance standards for safe havens. |
